A Call That Changed Everything
Have you ever experienced a moment so powerful that it redirected the entire course of your life? That moment came unexpectedly, transforming me from a casual church visitor to a vessel for God's voice. My journey into the prophetic was not born from tradition but from a divine encounter that shook my core.
The Early Years: An Unexpected Path
I was never raised in a devout household; my mother, though a Southern Baptist by upbringing, never forced religious practices upon me. At 16, I visited a Pentecostal church with friends, more out of curiosity and amusement than faith. Yet, what started as entertainment led to a life-altering experience. After a few months of visiting, I got saved and filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues for the first moment, which was both overwhelming and a bit scary.
Despite this profound experience and the lack of discipleship and accountability, I immediately backslid. Life took a turn when I became a teen mom at 19; right after graduating high school in June of 2000, I got pregnant. This period of my life was filled with ups and downs and an on-and-off relationship with the Lord, which I finally decided to stabilize by rededicating myself to God at 20.
The Turning Point: A Snowy Night in New York
One snowy night, alone in my New York apartment while my daughter visited her grandmother, I experienced the presence of God in a way I never had before. As I journaled, a flood of spontaneous thoughts turned into three detailed, prophetic letters about people I hadn't connected with in ages. An audible command led me to the Book of Ezekiel the following day, confirming my call to prophetic. Despite my uncertainties and struggles, including my battle with fornication and then complexities of young marriage, this was the unmistakable voice of God directing my path.
From Doubt to Destiny: Embracing the Call
My journey was far from simple. After a rocky marriage and a divorce at 29, I found myself questioning the very calling that had once been so clear. However, a near-death experience in a post-divorce, emotionally abusive relationship was the final nudge I needed to fully surrender to God's will.
Under the guidance of a mentor, I transitioned from a mentee to a mentor and eventually became the chief prophet of an organization that nurtured my prophetic office. Over seven years, I served and mentored over a hundred people, helping them find language for their prophetic calling and experiences.
Starting My Own Ministry: A Leap of Faith
Leaving my former role was not a decision made lightly. It required obedience to God and a deep trust in His timing and will. This step was essential to His plan for me, shaping me into who I am today.
Now, as the Chief Prophet of the Virtual Prophets Ministries, I lead prophets and those in training, helping them grow in their God-given gifts and offices. I also create content to help the body of Christ grow prophetically through YouTube, my blog, and Virtual Prophetic School.
