“Go To Sleep and Let God Take Care of You”
Yesterday I had a long day. I got up way earlier than normal. I did however go to sleep earlier than ever too. Last night I wanted to write this blog while I lay in my bed, but I heard Holy Spirit say to me this passage of scripture "It is useless to get up early and stay up late in order to earn a living. God takes care of his own, even while they sleep." - Psalm 127:2 The NKJV says it like this. "It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep."
I can easily go into work or ministry mode and work from sun up to sun down, but yesterday my body and God wasn't having it. I want to encourage those who may be hard workers, entrepreneurs, grinders, pioneers, founders, bosses etc. Those who maybe others on the outside may look at you as a "workaholic" You will know this if you have heard people say some of the following to you.
How do you do it? It seems like you do so much.
You are always working?
What are you doing now?
Let me guess you're at work?
Do you have a life?
You need to rest.
You know it's ok for you to not work sometimes right?
The list can go on. My former Pastor Bishop Jackie McCullough used to say. You need to listen to your critics because sometimes they tell you the truth even if you don't want to hear it. Now let me start of by saying someone who does not live the life that you live cannot necessarily realate to the nature of the work that you have to do. They may not understand the magnitude of all you have to do, so to them it may look like a lot, but to you it is normal.
Yesterday God was like GO TO BED. To be honest that sleep hit me like.
I knew I had to obey and go right to sleep. Trusting that He would take care of me. Leader even if you have a tendency to work hard, you also need to learn that God will take care of you even when you are sleep. Learn to balance and let God do his Job even when you are resting.
So the best thing you can do for yourself if you are tired is Go To Sleep and Let God Take Care of You! Plus I feel so much better this morning. I feel well rested and energized. I am also able to write this blog clearly.
