The Lord has called me to a fast and consecration to which I want to invite you. Over the past several weeks, the Lord has spoken to me about some of the frustrations I and those I mentor in the prophetic have dealt with regarding understanding more profound things of the spirit. Yes, even as a prophet of God, and as one who teaches, trains, and equips the body of believers, I still have dreams, visions, and prophecies that I sometimes have difficulty understanding.

 

Yes, I get frustrated when God is trying to communicate something that I can't quite figure out because He requires that I go deeper. But I know that the scripture says, "It is God's privilege to conceal things and the king's privilege to discover them." Prov 25:2 NLT. Which means It's our responsibility to search out and discover the deep mysteries of God. Especially the things that we don't understand.

What is Consecration

Separation of yourself form things that are unclean, anything that would contaminate your relationship with God.” Think of purity, holiness, and sanctification.

 

What is prayer? Worshipful supplications made to petition, and entreat God.

 

What is fasting?

Fasting is abstaining from all food. Fasting can be done in a complete, partial, lengthy, or short time frame. 

 

What fasting is not?

Giving up your favorite TV or Netflix series, social media, or other non related food pleasure. I know people may do this. But it is really and truly technically not fasting by definition. When we do those things, that is more of consecration. However, I believe we should take breaks from anything the Holy Spirit tells us to. 

 

Why should you fast?

• Are you in need of healing or a miracle?

• Do you need the tender touch of God in your life?

• Is there a dream inside you that only He can make possible?

• Are you in need of a fresh encounter?

• Do you desire a deeper, more intimate, and more powerful relationship with the Lord? Are you ready to have heightened sensitivity to the desires of God?

• Do you need to break away from bondages that have been holding you hostage?

• Is there a friend or loved one that needs Salvation?

• Do you desire to know God's will for your life? 

 

What does the Bible say about fasting?

Matthew 6:16-18, Matthew 9:14-15, Luke 18:9-14

 

Fasting as it relates to prayer and reading the word:

1 Samuel 1:6-8, 17-18, Nehemiah 1:4, Daniel 9:3, 20, Joel 2:12, Luke 2:37, Acts 10:30, Acts 13:2

 

Corporate fasting 1 Samuel:

7:5-6, Ezra 8:21-23, Nehemiah 9:1-3, Joel 2:15-16, Jonah 3:5-10, Acts 27:33-37
